Educational Support Services Fee Schedule (August 24, 2000) Rates for Tutorial and Education Assistance Services (February 27, 1998)

DATE: August 24, 2000 RE: Educational Support Services Fee Schedule Effective immediately, the new DFB/DVR Educational Support Services Fee Schedule is replacing the June 17, 1996 DVR Service Fee Memorandum MS-95-96-21 Recording Unit Charges; March 18, 1998 DFB Memorandum Rate of Payment for Reader, Note Taker, Driver, and Tutor; and February 27, 1998 DVR Service Fee Memorandum, MS-97-98-18, Rates for Tutorial and Education Assistance. The Educational Support Services Fee Schedule is in the Case Management System and is to be used by both agencies.
The previous DVR rate for Educational Aide has been reduced by 50 cents. The previous DFB rate for Reader and Note Taker has been increased up to 75 cents.
To be reimbursed at $10.00 per hour for tutoring, the individual must have a Bachelor’s Degree in, or a minimum of fifteen semester hours in, the specific subject matter. When the tutor meets the educational requirements listed in previous sentence and can communicate with the consumer in his/her native language with the service of an interpreter not required (interpreting for individual who is deaf included), the hourly rate may be increased to $12.50 per hour. No increase in hourly rate will be granted for collective tutoring and/or educational aide.
The following Semester maximums apply to Reader Services:
$ 570.00 for Undergraduate Work 805.00 for Graduate Work 1,050.00 for Doctoral Work

DATE: February 27, 1998 RE: Rates for Tutorial and Education Assistance Services Effective March 1, 1998, the following rates of payment may be allowed for content tutoring and for education assistance and/or aide services:
When the tutor can communicate with the consumer in his/her native language and the service of an interpreter is not required (interpreting for individual who is deaf included), the hourly rate may be increased to $12.50 per hour. Refer to Counselor's Manual for regulations, procedures, and information regarding Tutorial and Education Assistance Services.
