Technical Tips
1) Open Internet Explorer 2) In the Address or URL box, type https://webmail.ky.gov and press enter. 3) A yellow Outlook screen will appear with a single box for you to enter your e-mail alias; usually this consists of your first name, middle initial, a period, and your last name. Example: johnq.doe. 4) Press Enter. 5) A login box will appear. Type wfdcnt/ followed by
your username in the first box, and your network password in the second.
Example: wfdcnt/jdoe 6) Press Enter. Home connections are usually slower than those at your office, so it may take longer. This program will look and work a little different than in your office. When you are finished using Outlook, remember to Log Off at the bottom of the left column.
Making
a Shortcut to the Desktop
2) From the tool bar, select File/Send/Shortcut to desktop
1)Open Internet Explorer 2)From the tool bar, select Tools/Internet Options 3)In the homepage window find the address bar and type in the address you want as your default page and then select OK 4)Close Internet Explorer
and re-open. Your new default page will appear!
How to Defragment Your Computer DELETING TEMPORARY INTERNET FILES 1) On the Desktop Screen, right click on the blue Internet Explorer icon. 2)Left click on Properties. 3)Under the General tab, locate the section that says "Temporary Internet Files" and click the "Delete Files" button. 4)Click "OK" in the dialog box that pops up. 5)Click "OK" to close out of the Properties screen
1)On the Desktop Screen, double click on the MY COMPUTER icon. 2)Right click on C Drive. 3)Left Click on Properties. 4)Left Click on the Tools tab. 5)In the "Error-checking Status" section, click on the "Check Now" button. Make sure that "Standard" is selected and "Automatically Fix Errors" is checked. 6)Click on Start. 1)In the "Defragmentation Status" section, click on the "Defragment Now" button. 2)If you are 1% or more defragmented or have not defragmented for 60 days or more, click "YES" to defragment. Do not be concerned if it stays on 10% for quite a while. This means your computer was badly fragmented. 3)After the computer has defragmented, click "YES" to end the defragmenter. 4)Close out of all open screens.
