 RE:                Computer Technology Training, Manufacturing Technology Transfer Center (MTTC)

  SFM amended to add two new courses - Security Fundamentals and Security + Preparation.

The Kentucky Department of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) can provide assistance with the costs of computer technology training offered through Manufacturing Technology Transfer Center (MTTC) under its current status as a public/private partnership operated by Innovative Productivity, Inc., for the United States Navy Manufacturing Technology Program.  MTTC is located at 119 Rochester Drive in Louisville.

The maximum tuition assistance which any KY DVR consumer can receive will be 75% of the MTTC tuition charges listed above.  The DVR consumer will be responsible for the remaining tuition payment to MTTC.

  NOTE:  No rates have been established for individual half-day courses.

AUTHORIZATIONS:

  When a consumer is enrolling in a Package, issue a separate authorization for each course included in the Package with the exception of A+/BWT.  Issue only one pay authorization when the A+ and BWT courses included in the Package since the BWT course wraps the A+ course.

  Do not issue a separate authorization for the Certification Examination voucher.  Include the Certificate Exam on the same pay authorization that tuition and books for the course are covered.  Authorize for the A+ or Network + Certification Examinations at same time as authorize tuition and books assistance.  The Security + Certification Examination should be included on the authorization issued for the Security + Preparation course or the Security + Essentials package.  Do not authorize the Security + Certification Examination when authorizing for only the Security Fundamentals course.

  Credit hours at Decker College of Business Technology may not always be evenly divided between the two quarters of a six-month program and among the three quarters for a nine-month program.  It is therefore permissible to increase or to decrease the tuition allowable per quarter, as long as the total tuition assistance is not exceeded.

  INDIVIDUAL CLASSES - TWELVE-QUARTER CREDIT HOURS OR LESS

  Partial tuition assistance at 75% or less of $185.00 per credit hour will be provided for remedial keyboarding classes and individual classes.  The DVR consumer will be responsible for the remainder of tuition charges for individual classes.

  Up to a total of twelve-quarter credit hours of remedial keyboarding and/or individual classes may be covered.  Should the consumer continue to enroll in individual classes in excess of twelve-quarter credit hours, DVR assistance with the cost of these additional classes will not be provided.

  TRANSFER OF CREDIT HOURS

  Should the consumer choose to transfer into a certificate program after initially taking remedial keyboarding classes and/or individual classes, DVR tuition assistance up to the maximum partial allowable for the particular certificate program will be provided.  Should the consumer choose to apply credits earned in the six- and nine-month certificate to an associate degree program, DVR tuition assistance up to the maximum partial allowable for the associate degree program will be provided.

  Spalding University has a new academic calendar for the 2003-2004 School Year.  There will be three, six-week sessions during the Fall Semester and again during the Spring Semester.

  Students will be considered part-time during the first session of the Fall Semester (Session I) and the first session of the Spring Semester (Session IV).  Students will attain full time status during the Fall Semester Session II and the Spring Semester Session V, thus the reason for the DFB/DVR pay authorizations being issued prior to these sessions.  However, students register for all three sessions of the semester during the first session, thus the reason for DVR Tuition Worksheets being sent to the Financial Aid Office as early as possible but no later than the start date of the first session of the school year.  Students will be billed every 2 weeks until their full charges are paid.
