DVR Employees and Family Members in the U.S. Millitary

Patricia Thomason with the Owensboro DVR Office has a son in the US Marine Corps serving our country in the Middle East. CPL Thomason is an armorer attached to an Air Wing Base in Beaufort, S.C. He volunteered to go to Kuwait with another squadron, as their armorer had a life threatening disease and could not go. On February 1st he left with an advancement party to establish an Armory to house their weapons before the main body of Marines arrived in Kuwait. After the completion of this assignment, CPL Thomason began to volunteer for special missions and later accepted special duty from the 3rd Marine Air Wing Commanding General, who wanted an armorer, pistol qualified and having training on all weapons. This assignment has sent him to several different camps in Kuwait, including Infantry Units, Force Recon, and according to CPL Thomason, the best, Scout Snipers. He has traveled outside Kuwait on five separate occasions to the surrounding countries for special operations. In his last conversation with Patricia (before the war) he stated he is no longer associated with the Armory. Now that the war has begun, it is unknown what battalion or regiment he is attached to.
