RE: Inpatient and Outpatient Hospitalization for Cardiology Cases

INPATIENT HOSPITALIZATION

Effective May 15, 1990, coverage for inpatient hospitalization for any cardiology case must be provided at the current inpatient per diem rate to the following hospitals:

Central Baptist Hospital, Lexington

Humana Hospital Audubon, Louisville

Jewish Hospital, Louisville

NKC, Inc., Louisville

Regional Medical Center, Madisonville

St. Joseph Hospital, Lexington

Authorizations (EP-8's) which have been issued @ ninety (90) percent of allowable billed charges for service dates on or after May 15, 1990 should be adjusted to the per diem rate.

This action reflects adoption of the Kentucky Medical Assistance program's method of reimbursement for like services.

OUTPATIENT HOSPITALIZATION

Should a cardiac catherization or percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty be scheduled outpatient, coverage @ sixty-five (65) percent of allowable billed charges should be provided for service dates on or after May 15, 1990.

Also effective May 15, 1990, coverage to Jewish Hospital for outpatient diagnostic services will be at this agency's Relative Value Schedule rates rather than at full (100) percent of allowable billed charges.
