  RE:                  Communication Fax Assessment Service (CFAS)

 

Effective January 15, 2001, this Service Fee Memorandum replaces SFM  MS-98-99-18.  Effective Communication Solutions offers a fax assessment service.  The fax assessment can replace the on-site visit while still providing the benefits of the Communication Assessment Report and technology plan.  The counselor or consumer completes the Communication Assessment Form and sends to Becky Morris to make technology recommendations.

  The communication assessment reports are a valuable tool for counselors who are working with consumers who are hard of hearing.  The report contains a summary of the difficult communication situations at work, at home, at school, and provides technology solutions and strategies to overcome these difficult areas.  The report is designed as a tool to further discuss options with the consumer and to serve as case documentation.

 

The comprehensive assessments are performed by trained specialists and meet the needs of counselors who may not have experience with hearing instruments.  The ability to interface a hearing aid with assistive devices is critical to the success of many working adults.
