Nursing services, including nursing home care, may be
provided subject to the following guidelines:
The Department may authorize the service of a private
duty nurse or aide for eligible consumers. A written recommendation from the
attending physician will be placed in the case file prior to authorizing the
service. Payment shall be made at the prevailing rate established and/or
approved by the Department. This service should be restricted to short-term
care (two weeks or less). For two weeks or more, see convalescent care.
